For a conference, business leaders are gathering in London from all over the world. It is believe of Gordon Brown that this conference will secure pledges of investment that is needed. The Prime Minister commented that it would be a vital "showcase" for his bid to fix the UK's battered economy by increasing jobs.
To attend the Global Investment Conference, more than 250 chief executives, entrepreneurs and academics from 40 countries are expected in the capital. The Government has a dedication to halve the UK's record shortage - £178 billion - over 4 years and the PM has acclaimed the creation of high-tech jobs like engineering jobs UK as a key to accomplish it.
He stated: "Strong, sustained growth is also a vital part of our plan to halve the budget deficit within four years. Growth brings revenue and jobs that will reduce government borrowing that would otherwise go towards paying for unemployment. So by maintaining a world class environment for business to do business we can attract the investment that will underpin our move from recession to recovery to growth."
UK was already a leader in felids like advanced engineer jobs, pharmaceuticals, renewable energy, computer games and digital communications. And by staring new projects, government is trying to improve UK’s economy and also they are hiring not only local but foreigners with the help of engineering recruitment agencies to fill the skill shortage.
